Keeping a natural grass lawn looking decent in Colorado is a losing battle for a lot of homeowners. The heat, the dry air, the water restrictions - it adds up fast. This Arvada front yard had run its course, and the homeowner was done fighting it.

Here's what we were working with: a worn-out lawn that needed constant attention just to stay mediocre. The existing concrete curb border and landscape rock were already in good shape, so we kept those and worked around them. That's actually one of our favorite kinds of installs - when the bones of the yard are solid and we just need to bring in the right turf to pull everything together.

We laid fresh artificial turf inside the curved concrete border, and the contrast is hard to miss. Deep green turf against the warm tones of the existing rock and concrete border just works. The surrounding landscape - blue spruces, rounded shrubs, mature trees - stays fully intact, and now the whole front yard looks intentional and clean instead of patchy and tired.

The practical side of this is just as good as the visual. No more mowing. No irrigation running every few days. Colorado summers are rough on natural grass, and artificial turf simply doesn't care. It holds its color and its shape whether it rains or not - which, let's be honest, in Colorado it usually doesn't.

This is a great example of what a straightforward artificial turf installation can do for a front yard. No major overhaul needed. Just the right material, installed cleanly, working with what's already there.
