Most golfers spend more time driving to the course than actually practicing. A backyard putting green solves that problem - and when it's built right, it becomes the best feature on your property.
We completed this custom green in partnership with Dragonfly Landscape Design, and it's one of those installs that checks every box. The layout features a multi-lobed putting surface with three cups, so you can work different angles and distances without repeating the same putt over and over. That kind of variety is what separates a functional green from one you'll actually use every day.
The bunker is what really sets this one apart. Built right into the center of the green, it's surfaced with a clean white material that mimics a sand trap - giving you a realistic short-game challenge without any of the mess. Pair that with the surrounding artificial lawn turf, and the whole space flows together beautifully. It doesn't look like an add-on. It looks intentional.
Artificial turf made total sense here. Colorado's climate can be brutal on natural grass, especially in open, exposed yards like this one. With synthetic turf, the green stays consistent year-round - no watering, no mowing, no patchy dead spots. The turf and the putting surface complement each other with just enough texture difference to keep things looking sharp and playing true.
Working with Dragonfly Landscape Design on this one was a great fit. The boulder groupings, mulch beds, and gravel borders they incorporated around the space tie the whole design together. That's the goal with every putting green we build - make it feel like it belongs, not like it was dropped into the yard as an afterthought.
