This Highlands Ranch backyard had seen better days. The lawn was patchy, dry, and past the point of saving - the kind of yard you stop inviting people into. The homeowner had already put a lot of love into the surrounding garden beds, rock borders, and patio space. The grass was the one thing holding the whole yard back.
Here's what we were working with before we got started - bare, compacted soil with nothing worth keeping. Our crew prepped the entire area from the ground up. That means grading, base material, and making sure everything was set up properly so the turf would lay flat, drain well, and hold up long-term. Prep work is where most installs succeed or fail, and we don't cut corners on it.
Once the base was dialed in, we installed the artificial turf and trimmed it tight along the existing brick edging that borders the garden beds. The curved edges were the tricky part - but fitting synthetic grass cleanly against irregular borders is something we do all the time. The result is a lawn that looks intentional, not like an afterthought.
What the homeowner gets now is a backyard they can actually use. No watering schedule. No muddy patches after rain. No mowing. The artificial turf stays green and clean no matter what, which means the patio furniture, the garden decor, and all the personality this yard already had finally has a backdrop that matches it.
Yards like this are exactly why we do what we do. The homeowner did all the hard work building out the character of this space - we just finished it off with a lawn that won't let them down again.
