Turf and Pavers Done Right in Sterling Ranch

Most backyards don't fail because of one big thing. They fail because of a dozen small things that never quite come together. The patio feels disconnected from the yard. The fire pit area looks like an afterthought. There's no visual flow. That's exactly the kind of backyard we were working with here in Sterling Ranch.

The goal was pretty straightforward - use artificial turf to tie the whole space together. We laid a clean, curved turf section that bridges the gap between the fire pit seating area and the rest of the yard. The curved edge against the river rock gives it a natural, intentional shape rather than a boxy cut-and-done look. That detail alone changes how the whole yard feels.

Then there's the paver step stones. Instead of leaving bare dirt or gravel between each stone, we ran turf right through the gaps. Tight, clean ribbons of green between each slab. It sounds like a small thing, but it's the difference between a yard that looks finished and one that looks like a work in progress. That's the kind of detail that matters to us on every install.

The result is a backyard that actually makes sense as a space. You've got a defined lawn area, a walkable paver path, and a fire pit zone that all speak the same visual language. And because it's artificial turf, none of it needs mowing, watering, or reseeding when the Colorado heat hits hard. It just stays green and ready.
